Jérôme Gouzou
Jérôme specializes in issues related to conflict and post-conflict situations. Based in Sweden for more than a decade, he is a geographer by training (MA, DEA) and has studied Peace and Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance (MA) at Uppsala University. He has worked on different managerial and Team Leader positions since the early 1990s and mostly on international assignments since 1998. Before joining Indevelop, he was Director of Research and Conflict Transformation Programmes. He is also familiar with Sida Policies, the Paris Agenda, the Policy for Global Development and the Civil Society Sector.
During the last ten years, Jérôme has been working on strengthening civil society in peace building, on developing the theoretical background for the involvement of non-governmental actors in peace building, on evaluating civil society organizations, on performing conflict analysis, and on implementing conflict transformation programmes in war-torn countries (DRC, Sudan, Congo Brazzaville, Somalia, Ethiopia, and Eritrea). He has been involved in the debate on the link between humanitarian assistance and the more long-term development needs. He also worked as an advisor in a top-level mediation process.
