Institutional development

The objective of institutional development is to improve organizational performance and to change or develop legislative and regulatory frameworks.

Effective institutions, whether public, non-governmental or private, are central to sustainable development and poverty reduction. Good governance, political dialogue, fair trade and ownership all depend on the presence of adequate and locally owned institutional frameworks, both formal and informal.
