Sida framework agreement to provide gender equality support

Indevelop has managed the support function to the Gender Equality Team at Sida on a call-off basis to improve and strengthen the focus and perspectives of gender equality in Sida's work; especially on women's economic empowerment and gender based violence. The objective of the framework agreement is to strengthen the focus of WEE and GBV in specific interventions and to strengthen the competence and capacity of the Swedish resource base.

The following assignments were conducted through the support function:

Document for discussion; Sector vs Mainstreaming - how to promote gender equality in Sida's work
The report summarizes pro's and con's on methods to integrate gender equality in Sida's work, through mainstreaming or by having a gender equality sector.

Quick Guides for Sida staff; Gender and Access to Land, Gender and Unpaid Care Work
to Sida staff on how to integrate and highlight gender issues in the land administration sector and how to address unpaid care work..The guides provide basic background information of the two areas and practical entry points on how to increase women's access to land and property and how to reduce women's unpaid care work.

Drafting Dialogue Strategies for Sida Country Teams Belarus, Liberia, DRC,  Sierra Leone)
The assignment resulted in the discussion papers "Summing up review for designing a dialogue strategy within the area of GBV" and "Reflections on organizational challenges when elaborating and implementing dialogue strategies" which includes lessons learned when elaborating a GBV dialogue strategy within Sida.

Paper on African Conventions and Agreements that highlight Women's Economic Empowerment and GBV issues
Support to Sida staff in the dialogue with cooperation partners. The paper provides a source of information on African conventions, declarations and agreements that highlights areas of women's economic empowerment and gender based violence.

Indicators for Measuring Results of Gender Equality Interventions
Support to country teams in Result Based Management. Indicators in the field of democracy and human rights: mapping of existing approaches and proposals in view of Sida's policy. List of indicators that measure gender equality in the sectors where Sida work.

Mapping and Analysis of Global Organisation
Support to Sida staff in the planning of how to distribute support to global organisations that support Sida's LGBT, WEE, GBV and SRHR policy. The mapping includes information on global organisations that work with SRHR, GBV, WEE and LGBT issues and how they can strengthen Sida's work in the area.
