Standardized Accounting & Auditing system in Private and Public sector in Bolivia

Bolivia, 2005-2006, Chamber of Commerce Bolivia/ Sida

The scope of work included a comprehensive system implemented by the Chamber of Commerce and sustained by the Tax Board, Ministry of Finance and Statistical Bureau. The description of the project as indicated below:

• The co-ordination of legislation and standards
• Establishing a body to set the standards in the private sector
• Setting the accounting standards
• Improving compliance with financial reporting requirements
• Setting auditing standards
• Audit investigation and monitoring systems
• Development of a standardised Chart of Accounts (PUC)
• Assessment of resources needed from external funding

Consulting services for development of a Standardised Accounting & Auditing system in Bolivia (Plan Unico de Cuentas, PUC) including institutional capacity building (system structuring, system development, staff and management training, LFA workshops, seminars), follow ups and document writing and the development of a XBRL reporting system.
