St Petersburg Development of Family Medicine

This project aimed to:

• Develop Family Medicine in Petrogradsky District and at City level in St Petersburg

• Strengthen the Public Health Committee of St Petersburg

• Disseminate Family Medicine as part of the Health System in northwest Russia

• Contribute to the Health Reform in the City of St P and at Regional level

Services provided:

• Project Management

• Support to Family Medicine overall change processes

• Establishing cooperation with Medical Academies and other institutions in St Petersburg

• Project planning, LFA seminars with stakeholders

• Elaboration and implementation of Management Training and Development Programme for health care managers

• Elaboration and implementation of an information strategy for the Public Health Committee

• Curriculum development

• Re-structuring of a polyclinic to become a Family Medicine Centre

• Training doctors and nurses
