Review of Sida’s contribution to performing arts through the Academy of Music and Drama at the University of Gothenburg 2001-2010.Sweden has supported cultural expressions/freedom of expression through performing arts in the occupied Palestinian territories since 1995, as part of Sweden's bilateral development cooperation. The support has often included cooperation between Palestinian and Swedish cultural organizations. Sida has supported Palestinian performing arts organisations through the Academy of Music and Drama at the University of Gothenburg (HSM) since 2001. The areas of intervention are productions and performances, educational, exchange and capacity building.

 

Objective of the assignment:

The scope and focus of the assignment was to review the outcome, relevance, effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability of HSM's support to Performing arts in Palestine 2001 - 2010, and to provide recommendations on possible future Sida contributions to the area of cultural expressions/performing arts.

 

Services provided:

InDevelop conducted the entire review and prepared a report. The assignment included mapping and documentation as well as analysis and assessment of the issues and aspects to be reviewed. The consultant provided recommendations for HSM and Sida regarding to possible future Sida contribution to cultural expressions/-performing arts.
