Review of Inter Parliametnary Union‘s gender program “Gender Equality in Politics”
Reviewing the program "Gender Equality in Politics" and determining its relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, impact and sustainability in relation to its stated objectives with an emphasis on 2006 and onwards. The Review was conducted for Sida, CIDA and Irish Aid.
The Review focused on assessing the Gender Equality in Politics program in terms of:
- Relevance, in relation to IPU's objectives and goals as outlined in the program document;
- Effectiveness, in terms of selected strategies, design and use of methods and impact;
- Results (outputs, outcomes and impact) as compared to those anticipated in the program document;
- Sustainability and Cost effectiveness of the program;
- Administration and Management.
The Review assessed how IPU mainstreamed gender into its overall program of work, it organizational structures and strategic direction.
The Review made recommendations for IPU's future work with regard to the specific program on gender equality as well as gender mainstreaming in its overall work methods, organization and strategy of IPU as a whole, how to improve shortcomings and make use of good practices.

- Reviewing the programme and making recommendations to the donors
- Making recommendations to IPU on gender mainstreaming
