Indevelop takes part in a study of societal costs of antibiotic resistance in Sweden
The increasing resistance to the most used antibiotics, mainly caused by misuse and overconsumption, is a global threat to our ability to treat common medical problems and to conduct many of the most common surgical procedures in our society. SMI (Swedish Institute for Communicable Disease Control) has initiated a study of consequences for the Swedish society of this growing problem. Indevelop currently contributes with technical support in health economics for the design of a cost-of-illness study for Sweden. This important work will inform government and others about how we need to prepare society, and our health system, for the future.
