Improvement of Health Care Financing System

Support to the health reform efforts initiated by the Government of Lithuania through an improvement of the efficiency, equity and access of the Lithuania health care system.

The project consisted of three components:

• Support to health reform (supporting the development of regional resource allocation formula, establishment and implementation of procedures for allocation of investment funding, improvement of provider contracting, definition of basic services and development of protocols, management of implementation of information systems);
• Health service restructuring (development of the primary health care delivery system while rationalizing the use of resources at secondary and tertiary levels);
• Project management (facilitating effective project implementation).
