Final Evaluation Mission of the Reproductive Health, Equity and Rights Programme in Nicaragua

The purpose of the mission was to evaluate the progress and changes attained by the Silais and municipalities of Carazo and Chontales, linking them to the systematization of the lessons learned from the processes aimed at fostering the exercise of sexual and reproductive rights and the strengthening and expansion of the sexual and reproductive health services supported by SARED from 2003-2007.

The evaluation mission identified and recommended priority actions to intensify the implementation of the national sexual and reproductive health strategy in the territories of both Silais in coherence with the development of Minsa's comprehensive health attention model (MAIS).  In this framework, the mission identified needs and modalities as proposals to Minsa and the cooperation present.

As part of the evaluation the following tasks were carried out:

  • Review of documents prior to the visit
  • Data collection in Nicaragua using key informant interviews and focus group interviews
  • Cost-effectiveness analysis
