External Evaluation of Community and Basic Health Project
Background
The objective of the Project "Community and Basic Health" (CBHP) is to increase access to, utilization of, and patient satisfaction with health services in project supported areas, and to build capacity and efficiency at national, oblast and rayon levels in administering a basic package of health benefits and introducing financing reforms in primary health care. The project is intended to strengthen the government's health reform program in pilot districts of Sughd and Khatlon.
Objective
The objective of the evaluation was to assess the contribution of the Project "Community and Basic Health" in fulfilling the objective of the health care reform to make health care system affordable, accessible, acceptable and effective.
Services provided
- Assessment of implementation of Family Medicine Program in pilot regions of CBHP and developing concrete recommendations to scale up project's achievements;
- Examining the progress of implementation of the Community Health Model, considering the criteria of relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, impact and sustainability;
- Recommendations for the Ministry of Health and donor community, with a particular focus on future capacity building and strengthening of the Community Health Program towards achieving and securing its future sustainability.
