Business Investment Climate Assessment
Providing an Investment Climate Assessment (ICA) and a supply chain analysis in the tourism, crafts/furniture, and education sectors at the sub national level in the Yogyakarta Province, Indonesia.
Background:
The vision of the Government of the Special Province of Yogyakarta (DYP) was to inspire Yogyakarta to become the leading economic region in Asia for trade, tourism and investment in a period of five years. DYP seeks to enhance the Province among its neighbours as an international, trade and cultural hub in Central Java with the objective of making the region economically sustainable and globally competitive. To tackle this challenge the World bank agreed to support an Investment Climate Assessment (ICA) and a supply chain analysis in the relevant sectors.
Services provided:
Business Investment Climate Assessment (ICA) was carried out among private enterprises in tourism, craft and higher education sectors.
Economic situation in the Yogyakarta Special Province, DIY, especially in craft, tourism and higher education sectors was analysed. ICA-survey was conducted as part of the preparation of a Yogyakarta Regional Strategic Development Project, YRDP, to assess the competitiveness of small medium and large enterprises in the tourism, crafts/furniture and higher education sectors and to identify main business constraints.
