A Baseline study, including an assessment of the status of MUCHS Financial management structures and training needs. The study put MUCHS Financial management structures into the context of the Financial management system of the whole University. It provided an overview and a brief assessment of the Financial management structures at UDSM.

 

Services provided:

A Feasibility study was carried out in order to gain information on the capacity and sustainability tools available as well as external actors (Ministries, Accountant General, software businesses etc.) with direct and indirect impact on administration, financial management and research management. The Feasibility study also included an analysis of impact, relevance and efficiency of:

• A new accounting system based on IFMAS and Platinum applications,
• Basic training in accrual accounting, accounts reporting, budget execution and control, and standardisation on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) tools;
• Development of a changed reporting system based on IFMAS and Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS) and at a later stage on XBRL via Internet.
