Assessment of Gender Legislation

The assessment was commissioned by UNDP Turkmenistan in the context of the UNDP funded project "Gender Based Review of Turkmen Legislation" to assess

1.       Gender Legislation Review Report, including a draft law on equal opportunities.

2.       Gender Differences in Business Report, including a draft law on State Support to Small Enterprises

UNDP funded project Gender based Review of Turkmen legislation implemented by the Union of Economists in Turkmenistan aimed at assessing (1) the current national legislation from a gender perspective and (2) gender differences in business with the overall objective to support the Government of Turkmenistan in formulating gender sensitive policies. 

 

Services provided:

Assessment of the quality of the project outputs and contribution to finalizing the reports and drafted laws for publication and dissemination purposes. Tasks performed:

• Confirmation of validity of major findings and conclusions;
• Assessment of the quality of analysis and drafted law;
• Recommendations on improvements of the analysis;
• Provision of advice on the drafted law as per internationally accepted legal and gender standards.
