Start of ITP: Human rights, peace and security in Stockholm
25 representatives from civil society organisation and state agencies from Liberia, Sierra Leone, Timor-Leste, Cambodia and Colombia arrived this weekend to attend the Sida financed International Training Programme in HR, Peace and Security, managed by Indevelop.
During the three coming weeks lectures from the department of Peace and Conflict Research, the NGO Foundation for Human Rights, Global Reporting and ILAC among others will contribute with input to the training. This year's participants represent organisations such as The Human Rights Commission in Liberia; The Ombudsman in Sierra Leone, Timor-Leste and Colombia, the NGO "Fundacion Ideas Para La Paz" from Colombia, the Ministry of Women's Affairs and the Ministry of Justice in Cambodia; and the NGO West African Youth Network from Liberia and Sierra Leone.
Apart from lectures and interactive group work we will conduct study vistis to Sida, The Discrimination and Parliamentary Ombudsman and The Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Rights.
