Project Completed: WB funded Technical Assistance within the Health Sector in Tanzania
Indevelop has successfully carried out a two-year assignment (2009-2011) for the Local Government in Tanzania. The main objective was to provide technical assistance in assisting 44 defined councils nationwide to conform to the requirements of the Joint Rehabilitation Fund Procedures Manual and empower the councils with necessary skills.
The technical assistance provided training on Project Supervision including architectural/technical and procurement components and Financial Management. The training was carried out as seminars, workshops and individual training to district medical officers, engineers, quantity surveyors, supplies officers, planning officers, procurements offices, architects and district treasurers, economists and accountants.
In total 172 representatives from the councils participated in the training and 392 officials participated in the on the job training. Thus an average of 12 officials participated from each council plus additional participants from the local government.
Additionally, several guiding documents were issued and distributed to the government for future use and guidance to the councils for similar nationwide programs.
Indevelop was the lead company in association with Ramböll Project Management AB and Inter Consult Limited together with Tanzanian financial management experts. The project was managed by Indevelop's Project Manager Eva Wenström.
