Sida contract award: "Further Development of Web Based Support for the Integration of a Human Rights Based Approach"

The Human Rights & Democracy Consortium, lead by Indevelop, has been awarded the contract for "Further Development of Web Based Support for the Integration of a Human Rights Based Approach" under Sida's framework agreement for Human Rights.  The purpose of the assignment is to update and further develop a web based support function on how to integrate a human rights based approach and the perspectives on development of people who are poor into development cooperation with partners through direct projects and programs, mainstreaming and dialogue.

The Human Rights Team will be the technical implementers of this assignment for the consortium. HRT will build on its previous experience of working with Sida under the previous framework agreement for HR "Support in Applying a Human Rights Based Approach in Sub-Saharan Africa" to design and implement the assignment. Between 2008 and 2010, HRT assisted Sida to develop a range of tools to support Embassies and Sida staff working in Sub-Saharan Africa to become more knowledgeable and comfortable in applying the human rights based approach (HRBA).

The Human Rights & Democracy Consortium is proud to assist Sida in the development work with HRBA. The contract runs for 2011 and 2012 with a value of approx. 1,2 MSEK.
