Civil society support in the Western Balkans
Sida has supported civil society organisations in the Western Balkans through a framework with three Swedish non-governmental organizations since the end of the 1990's: Civil Right Defender, Kvinna till Kvinna and Olof Palme International Centre. The evaluation provided Sida with an overall summative judgement as a basis for a discussion about future support to the civil society to respective country in the Western Balkans as regards to methods, organisation, cooperation partners and regulatory framework.
The evaluation report included
1. Evaluated the outcome and impact, relevance, effectiveness, cost efficiency, and sustainability of the support.
2. Provided recommendations as well as a basis for discussion on Sida's future support to the civil society in the region. This includes selection of modality and cooperation partners.
3. Contributed to the learning of the Swedish framework organizations and their counterparts.
